Who We Are And Our Mission!

About EcoMarines Foundation

Be Part of a Community
that Cares for the Planet

EcoMarines' ultimate goal is to empower students to be part of a wider world that creates long-term, positive behaviour change for our diverse but often fragile wildlife, natural environment, and ecosystems.

Our program emphasises leadership development by appointing student ambassadors in participating schools. These ambassadors will design and implement eco-friendly initiatives, serving as role models and educators to inspire their peers in sustainability efforts.

Empower Change With EcoMarines

Learn, Grow, and Act with our Eco-Community through our innovative environmental education programs for schools in Queensland

Our Programs

EcoMarines' free environmental education programs help learners of all ages develop a deeper connection with nature and inspire positive change in their communities.

Our Story

Launched in 2014 by Tangalooma Island Resort, EcoMarines has grown into an independent foundation empowering Queensland communities to take action for a sustainable future.

Sponsorships

We partner with businesses, government and like-minded organisations to support our community in creating positive behaviour change for marine and terrestrial eco-systems.

Inspiring Change

Fostering environmental awareness and action

EcoMarines program gives young people the tools they need to develop sustainable practices so they can become the precursors of change within their schools, families and communities. Here are some of the feedback:

"EcoMarines is a wonderful initiative for the kids and really gets them thinking about the impact (plastic footprint or whatever you want to call it) they have on the environment and how everyone can make small changes."

Katharina D Parent

"Being an EcoMarines Ambassador has brought my daughter into a new world of confidence and opened up new opportunities for her. She would have never spoken in front of a group of people, let alone up on stage, so for that, I say thank you."

Karin M Parent

"I've been working with the Eco Marines across a few schools since 2017, and it's been such an amazing journey. We've worked with students that have shown us how much they love environmental sustainability. They have learnt so much from the opportunities provided by the EcoMarines. We've worked with Coral Watch, the Redland City Council, and the Brisbane City Council. We've worked with recycling plants. We've learned all about composting. It's just been amazing. And we wouldn't have had these opportunities if it wasn't for the programme offered by the Eco Marines. I cannot recommend them enough."

Nikki H Teacher

"I'm part of a typical EcoMarines family, so I want to give back to our planet because I've been taught this way. I can and want to spread my knowledge and everything to younger and older kids."
