What is “Making Waves”?
Making Waves brings together EcoMarines Ambassadors, passionate teachers, and local environmental industry experts to celebrate sustainability, share their innovative ideas, and inspire action for our land and oceans. This year promises an engaging lineup of activities, expert-lead workshops, and opportunities for EcoMarines Ambassadors to showcase their hard work throughout the year.
New & Returning Making Waves Event Locations in 2026
To ensure more schools than ever can participate, we are returning to Brisbane, Ipswich, and Townsville, but we’re proud to announce the addition of Cairns and Gold Coast Making Waves events to our lineup.

Schools located near each event region have already been emailed their ticket links, so make sure to register early!
We cannot wait to see the presentations submitted and prepared by EcoMarines schools, and to learn more about the sustainable practices, projects and initiatives that EcoMarines Ambassadors have been championing all throughout the year.
