Educate, Empower, Act: Go Green Month 2026 Begins
This World Environment Day on the 5th of June, EcoMarines was proud to launch Go Green for EcoMarines Month 2026, a month-long celebration of environmental education, student leadership, and positive action across Queensland.
Throughout June, schools, early learning centres, local councils, partners, and communities will come together to support environmental learning and inspire actions that contribute to a more sustainable future.
At EcoMarines, we believe environmental education is one of the most powerful tools for creating lasting change. By equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for the environment, we empower them to become active environmental leaders within their schools and communities.
Go Green for EcoMarines Month offers an opportunity to showcase how environmental education can be transformed into meaningful action. Through hands-on learning experiences, student-led sustainability projects, habitat restoration activities, waste reduction initiatives, fundraising efforts, and community engagement programs, EcoMarines Ambassadors are putting their learning into practice and demonstrating the positive impact young people can have when they are empowered to lead.
How to Join Go Green Competition?
As part of Go Green Month, EcoMarines is inviting participating schools to take part in our annual Go Green Competition.
- Take Action
Create a short video featuring your EcoMarines Ambassadors answering the question:
“What does it mean to be an EcoMarine?”
We want to hear directly from students about what being an EcoMarine means to them and how they are helping make a difference in their school and community.
- Capture the Magic
Hosting a Go Green Day, World Environment Day celebration, fundraiser, sustainability project, or community event?
Take photos and videos of your activities and send them to: [email protected]
- Share and Submit
Submit your video entry to EcoMarines and continue sharing photos and updates throughout the month so we can celebrate your achievements and environmental impact.

Participating schools and teachers have already received a Dropbox link for direct submissions.
We also encourage schools to share their Go Green activities on social media and tag EcoMarines. This allows us to highlight the incredible environmental learning opportunities, sustainability initiatives, community partnerships, and student achievements taking place throughout Go Green Month.
